I got into an accident, I didnt realize my insur. policy has cancelled. I'm going to court. What do I expect?

I got into an accident due to going through a yellow light that turned red. I contacted my insurance company and was informed that my insurance policy had been cancelled. It is now reinstated, but at the time of the accident I did not have coverage. I have to go to court in a little over a week. I am so nervous and don't know what to expect. I really hope my license are not suspended. Does anyone have any ideas??? I am a college student and I'm really freaking out about this court date. I have talked to the other parties' insurance company and they notified me that I would be able to discuss payment options with him once everything was taken care of...................HELP.....
