Understanding the last line in this haiku by matsuo basho?

If you imitate me, the poem says, you won't be interesting because you won't be unique. You'll just be a copy of something else. One half of a melon is pretty much like the other half. You don't want to be pretty much like somebody else. You want to be your own distinctive self.
