I may sound stupid but what's the difference between a Mexican or an Indonesian?

there is this town of mine. i have both chicanos and indons here. sometimes i often mistook them as the other because of same skin color. there is this man i mistakenly called an indonesian but he is a mexican and vice versa. i may sound stupid but really, the world had gone mad!
