Was married and never turned in the marriage license, am I still legally married?

All you have to do is go to your local county recorder office, heck you may even be able to call. Give them your info, his info and so forth, and there you go. If there is a record in the county you married then yes you are, if there isn't then you got lucky. My husband and I married in a CA county courthouse as well, we signed the forms, got some forms, but we never mail anything in ourselves. As soon as I could, I got a legal copy of our marriage license, without mailing anything in.
